BOO WILLIAMS
Chicago

Boo Williams is one of House music’s innovators. He is a Chicago-born black producer and DJ that has been in the game since witnessing himself House music originator Larry Heard forever change the face of electronic music in the 1980s. After first taking up the decks and producing, Boo Williams has produced countless timeless tracks and sets, played around the world and inspired too many to count for now 30 years and relentlessly continues to produce and perform for all ears.
His impact personally pushed Zakariyya and I to create a network, as we discovered his music in the early 2000s. His first release came through Djax records, a dutch record label owned by underground legend Miss Djax (Saskia Slegers), one of the first leading woman and european in the underground. The same year he made his first US release on Relief records, a Chicago sub-label of Cajual, which became his home for consecutive timeless releases. Boo Williams expanded rapidly to further US labels such as Residual Recordings of Ohio from Titonton Duvante or Moods & Grooves of Detroit by Mike Grant and was quickly acknowledged as a master of deep groovy and melodic house.
Mixing and producing relentlessly, Boo‘s drive has been an inspiration to us all. He, alike several black leading producers from the golden generation, has been suffering severe health issues recently and was hospitalised, for those of you who wish to support him and his impact in the music industry, please donate directly on the following link:
